The Woman Who Keeps Starting Over
No one talks enough about the strength it takes to start over.
We celebrate the success stories.
We applaud the victories.
We admire the finished product.
But we rarely acknowledge the woman who is quietly rebuilding her life one piece at a time.
The woman who had her heart broken and still chose to love again.
The woman who lost confidence in herself and is learning how to trust herself again.
The woman who faced rejection but refused to give up on her dreams.
The woman who has cried in private, questioned her worth, and wondered if things would ever get better.
That woman deserves to be celebrated too.
Starting over is not failure.
Starting over is courage.
It is the decision to believe that your future can be different from your past.
It is choosing hope when disappointment would be easier.
It is refusing to let one chapter define your entire story.
Many women carry guilt about where they are in life.
They compare their timeline to someone else's.
They look at social media and wonder why everyone else seems so far ahead.
They question whether they have wasted too much time.
But life is not a race.
There is no deadline on becoming.
You are not behind.
You are not disqualified.
You are not too late.
You are simply in the middle of your story.
And some of the most beautiful chapters are written after the pages we never wanted to live through.
Maybe you're starting over financially.
Maybe you're starting over in a relationship.
Maybe you're starting over after a divorce.
Maybe you're starting over in your career.
Maybe you're starting over emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.
Whatever your situation may be, I want you to know something:
Starting over does not make you weak.
It makes you brave.
Because every day you choose to get up and try again, you are proving that your circumstances have not defeated you.
You are still here.
You are still growing.
You are still becoming.
The woman you're becoming may look different than the woman you once imagined.
But she is wiser.
She is stronger.
She is more resilient.
She understands her value.
She knows her worth.
And she no longer allows fear to make decisions for her.
So if you find yourself standing at the beginning of another new chapter, don't be discouraged.
Lift your head.
Take a deep breath.
Trust the process.
And remember:
You have survived every difficult season that tried to break you.
You will survive this one too.
The story isn't over.
In fact, it may be just beginning.
Until next time,
Jerica Smith
